Central and South American Art

.

The Central and South American collection contains artworks from the Caribbean, Costa Rica, Colombia, Ecuador, the Andes, and Argentina. With representative examples of numerous cultures throughout these regions, the works allow for a discussion of the trade networks, both over land and sea, which facilitated the exchange of goods and ideas over vast distances. Ancient and contemporary Andean textiles are a particular strength, most of the latter donated by Kevin Healy, as is a unique grouping of objects from Northern Argentina donated by Robert and Beverly O’Grady.
