Celebrate the opening of the new Raclin Murphy Museum of Art on December 1–3, 2023!

At the Raclin Murphy Museum of Art, we believe that everyone contributes to the life of the Museum. Join us for a weekend of performances, activities, and refreshments that celebrate creativity and belonging. Discover the many different ways to explore and engage with works of art and each other as we mark this meaningful moment for the Notre Dame campus community, the local Michiana community, and the region.
All events are free and open to all.

Opening Night

Friday, December 1, 2023
6:00–10:00 p.m.

We need your help to bring the new Museum to life. Usher in this historic moment with a fun and lively evening of art, entertainment, refreshments, and merriment. Join us to inaugurate an exciting new era of an art museum for the Notre Dame campus, Michiana community, and region.

Find your groove with a museum soundtrack curated by DJ PB. Enjoy sweet bites created by Notre Dame chefs inspired by works of art paired with drinks from the cash bar. Don’t miss fun photo ops throughout the Museum.

The celebration isn’t complete without you! No registration required, but let us know here if you’re interested in joining.

The entrance to the Museum for this event is located on the east side of the building facing the Charles B. Hayes Family Sculpture Park. Parking is available on campus in the Walsh Architecture and Stadium Parking Lots. Additional parking can be found directly south of the Museum in the Eddy Street Commons Parking Garage at 1228 N Eddy Street. Please note there will be other events taking place on campus this evening that impact parking. If traveling via South Bend Transpo, take the No.7 bus and use the stop for Eddy Street. Commons (Angela & Eddy Street).

Spend the day getting to know your new Museum. Bring your family and friends to enjoy an exciting and activity-filled day in the galleries alongside local musicians, dancers, and artists.

* Sensory Cool Down Room hosted by staff from Lighthouse Autism Center for those in need of a calming space.
