Class Visits

Looking at, thinking about, and sharing ideas about art extends course concepts beyond the classroom. The Raclin Murphy Museum of Art houses over 30,000 objects that serve as vital resources for teaching at the University.

The Museum offers your class:

  • Opportunities to study works in the collection that are not on view in the Object Study Room.
  • Access to the Museum during your class time, even outside of the Museum’s public hours.
  • Support from Museum staff in selecting both works of art that relate to course content and pedagogical strategies that support course learning goals in preparation for you to teach your own class in the Museum.
  • Teaching support—in multiple languages—from Museum staff to lead your class or co-teach alongside you.

Start planning your class visit by contacting the Curator of Education, Academic Programs at hoyt.14@nd.edu.

We recommend being in touch at least three weeks before your preferred visit date.
