Summer Music Series

Join us for a jazz concert in the Mary Loretto & Terrence J. Dillon Courtyard.  Bring your own blanket or lawn chair.   We’ll provide light snacks, a cash bar, the atmosphere, and some amazing jazz. Picnicking encouraged.

All 3rd Thursdays @ the Snite are free and open to all. Museum galleries and exhibitions are also open.

Gene Knific Trio

Gene Knific is a pianist, composer, and producer based in Chicago, IL. Knific has performed worldwide presenting an extensive and diverse repertoire with a wide array of artists. Recent highlights include performances with saxophone legend Joe Lovano in 2014, Macarthur Genius Grant recipient Miguel Zenón in 2015, and three performances at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., with the Betty Carter Jazz Ahead program. His band, the Gene Knific Trio performs a unique blend of styles. Their repertoire spans from jazz classics, to 20th-century classical compositions, to pop, rock and folk music explorations. The trio also performs Knific's compositions, which have won multiple awards in jazz and chamber music circuits.

The 3rd Thursdays @ the Snite Summer Music Series is curated by Stephen and Mary Merriman of Merrimans' Playhouse.

Cash Bar
Unwind with friends at the Snite Museum after work with a glass of wine, a beer, or a mixed drink.  

Boxed Picnic Dinners
Pre-order an Au Bon Pain boxed picnic dinner by calling the Friends Office at (574) 631-5516 the Tuesday before the performance.  Options include a turkey club, a ham and cheddar sandwich, or a veggie hummus wrap.  Boxed picnic dinners include a sandwich, chips, and a cookie.  They are $10 for Friends members and $12 for non-members. 

Summer Shuttle Service 
For the Summer Music Series the Museum will provide a free shuttle service from the Compton Family Ice Arena parking lot to the Museum beginning at 4:30 p.m. and running until 7:45 p.m.  Look for Snite Museum signs and pick up the shuttle at the bus shelter in the parking lot.
