Reflecting Racial Justice Exhibition

Five students from Jefferson Intermediate Traditional School who participated in the day-long Racial Justice Institute cosponsored by the Snite Museum and the IU South Bend Civil Rights Heritage Center.

The Snite Museum of Art, University of Notre Dame, and the Indiana University South Bend Civil Rights Heritage Center invite you to an exhibition opening celebrating the work of some talented South Bend eighth grade students who attend Jefferson Intermediate Traditional School.

On the Monday, January 16 Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday the students participated in a day-long Racial Justice Institute jointly organized by the Snite Museum and the Civil Rights Heritage Center. It culminated with the students making a collaborative art project in response to the question, "How will you fight for racial justice?"

Guests are encouraged to come to the Saturday reception to meet the students, view their artwork in an exhibition entitled, Reflecting Racial Justice, and lean more about the Snite Museum of Art and the Civil Rights Heritage Center.

Admission is free. Public participation is encouraged.

The event is cosponsored by the Snite Museum of Art and the Indiana University South Bend Civil Rights Heritage Center, which will host the event at their 1040 West Washington Avenue location.
