2017 Public Reception- Winter Exhibitions

-

Location: Snite Museum of Art (View on map )

All are welcome to attend a free public reception from 5–7:30 p.m. on Friday, February 10 to celebrate the Museum's winter special exhibitions.

During the event artist Michael Dunbar will provide a brief gallery talk in his exhibition, Continuum: The Art of Michael Dunbar in the Sculptural Tradition. This traveling exhibition organized by the David Owsley Museum of Art at Ball State University was curated by Thea Burger and Robert G. La France who will be on hand for comments and questions.

Complimentary refreshments from Fiddler’s Hearth and Tapastrie will be provided by Friends of the Snite Museum. A cash bar will also be available and entertainment by local musician Steve Foresman.

Foresman plays a mixture of rock, folk, classic country, and rhythm & blues. He mixes a few original songs from the Foresman songbook, along with interpretations of artists such as Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Van Morrison, and the Beatles. His vocal style and striking guitar technique are immediately recognizable. Whether he’s wailing out a full-tilt rocker on his electric guitar or singing a moody ballad with that patented velvet baritone, no one delivers from the stage quite like Steve.

Steve has been fortunate enough to open for The Doobie Brothers, Heart, The Beach Boys, REO Speedwagon & STYX. Playing over 100 shows a year for over 20 years, Steve Foresman is a Michiana favorite.

As to parking that evening----after 4:45 p.m. campus visitors may park free of charge in the B1 and C1 lots located south of the football stadium. The last run of the free shuttle between the Compton Family Ice Arena and the Notre Dame Avenue entrance to McKenna Hall leaves McKenna Hall about 6:45 p.m. For more information and maps visit parking information.
