Merrimans’ Play-House Players
Join us for a free jazz concert in the Mary Loretto &Terrence J. Dillon Courtyard. Bring your own blanket or lawn chair. We’ll provide fresh popcorn, the atmosphere, and some amazing jazz. Picnicking encouraged, no cash bar this summer.
The Merrimans' Play-House Players features local musicians Stephen Merriman (drums), Mary Merriman (bass), Jeff Miller (guitar), Don Lerman (saxophone), and Anibal Maximiliano “Max” Medina (percussion).
This performance will highlight their enjoyment of one of jazz's most valued traditions--the open session. This format nurtures not only the active player but also the active listener. The open session gives listeners insight into the "method behind the madness" by putting into practice collectively what they've been practicing individually.
In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be moved indoors.
All 3rdThursdays @ the Snite are from 5:00-7:30 p.m. and are free, open to all, include refreshments and are a great way to connect with art in new ways. Museum galleries will also be open that evening.
Free shuttle from 4:45-7:45 p.m. between the Bulla Road lot (on the east edge of campus, just off Twyckenham Drive) and the Museum or park for free in the Stadium, Joyce, or Walsh Architecture lots south of the football stadium and walk to the Snite Museum.
