DETROIT ITINERARY
DAY ONE: WEDNESDAY, JUNE 21, 2023
7:15 a.m. Board Cardinal Bus in the rear parking lot of the Hilton Garden Inn, Indiana State Rt. 933, Roseland, IN
7:30 a.m. Depart South Bend Light snacks and bottled water provided
11:00 a.m. Arrive at Detroit Institute of Arts Docent Tour of highlights, lunch in their cafés on your own, free time to explore
3:30 p.m. Board Bus
3:45 p.m. Depart DIA
4:00 p.m. Arrive at Pewabic Pottery
5:00 p.m. Board Bus for hotel
5:45 p.m. Arrive at the Hyatt Place Detroit/Royal Oak in Royal Oak, MI Evening on your own. The hotel is located on Main Street with several restaurant choices (besides the hotel option). A list will be supplied.
DAY TWO: THURSDAY, JUNE 22, 2023
Morning Breakfast is provided by the hotel. Eat at your convenience.
9:00 a.m. Check out and board Bus
9:15 a.m. Depart hotel
9:45 a.m. Arrive at the Cranbrook Art Museum, Bloomfield Hills, MI Self-guided tour of Cranbrook Gardens
11:00 a.m. Split into two groups:
Group 1 - Guided tour of Saarinen House: A Total Work of Art
Group 2 - Guided tour of the Collections wing, Cranbrook Art Museum
12:15 p.m. Catered box lunch together in the museum’s Art Lab
1:30 p.m. Split into two groups:
Group 1 - Guided tour of the Collections wing
Group 2 - Guided tour of Saarinen House: A Total Work of Art
2:45 p.m. Groups back together to view Sonya Clark: We Are Each Other Exhibition in the Upper Galleries by Sonya Clark, a fiber artist and graduate of the Institute
4:00 p.m. Board Bus
4:15 p.m. Depart Cranbrook Art Museum Light snacks and beverages provided
8:15 p.m. Arrive back in South Bend
