Spend a summer evening grooving to jazz on the Hiler Family Terrace at the Raclin Murphy Museum. Bring your own blanket or lawn chair (limited seating will be available on the Terrace) and settle in for some great music. Ivan’s Cafe will have food available for purchase, and a cash bar will be available.
It’s only fitting that for the inaugural performance of Merrimans’ Playhouse @ the Raclin Murphy Museum of Art, Stephen and Mary Merriman kick things off! This performance will highlight their enjoyment of one of jazz's most valued traditions⸺the open session. This format nurtures not only the active player but also the active listener. The ensemble features Stephen Merriman on drums, Mary Merriman on bass, Stefan Hess on piano, Don Lerman on saxophone, Todd Neuenschwander on tenor saxophone, Max Wilfinger on trumpet, and maybe a guest or two sitting in.
