Designed for students of any major, this six-session co-curricular program combines issues related to museum collecting, contemporary photography, and socially-engaged artistic practice. Students will critique individual photographs and evaluate artists' portfolios, and also engage in critical discussions with curators and select faculty. Ultimately, students will develop their own collecting criteria to recommend a photograph for acquisition that adds value to the permanent collection of the Raclin Murphy Museum and supports the mission of the University.
