The Student Programming Committee (SPC) works to creatively connect the Raclin Murphy Museum of Art to student life on campus at Notre Dame.

Through planning and hosting student-oriented programming and activities, SPC hopes to shape meaningful engagement with works of art and broaden the experience of what being in a museum can look and feel like. This volunteer student group meets weekly to vision and execute its programming while learning more about the Raclin Murphy and its collection.

RM in the PM: Make the most of late night hours at the Museum by joining for SPC’s signature Thursday evening event which includes art, art-making, and refreshments!
Welcome Desk Concerts: Listen to an acoustic set by featured student performers while enjoying a discount on refreshments at Ivan’s Cafe! Inspired by NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts, this series celebrates the Museum as a space for inspiration and belonging, which we hope begins the moment you enter the Museum and are greeted at the Welcome Desk.

Study Breaks: Practice mindfulness, find inspiration, de-stress through artful activities, and enjoy snacks before heading into midterms or finals. Study Breaks remind us to take time for wellness as the Museum offers a space for us to replenish our lives and relationships.
Collaborations and Partnerships: SPC values creating a collaborative environment not only within the group but also with other student groups and organizations around campus. We’d love to partner to host a meaningful event together!

Applications open at the beginning of the fall semester for the academic year. SPC welcomes undergraduate students of all backgrounds and areas of study. No prior experience with art or art history is required. Both the structure of the group and its programming reflect our belief that all students have the potential to thrive in the space of the Museum.
